Paternity Leave in Malaysia

Filed under: Social and Politics — tanling @ 6:20 am

Read today The Star Two page T4-No Child’s Play and page T6 Stay-at-home dad.  I am a mother of 2 boys. My husband spent time to be with me and our eldest boy during confinement month which was a learning and bonding experience. He was not able to do so during our second boy due to work commitment. So the younger boy is not so close to his papa. I would support the idea of granting paternity leave for both government and private sector. It can help to build better relationship in families.

I am wondering why the HR guy in this company being so insensitive about individual different needs. Does every family in this world function as they are being programmed to live in A way? HR department is the one of the functions in an organization that take care of staffs and ensure reasonable working conditions that effective for both organization and staffs. If 2-3 working days are sufficient, I think that would be workable for those who are still living in and before the eigthties.
