Japanese Tableware

No, I do not own any of the above. There are from one of the Japanese tableware books I have in my home library. I have a small collection of tableware I love very much. I do use them on special occasions and daily. Some I bought during my travel and during visits to flea markets. I like the idea of serving food on lovely plates and bowls - I love my guests to enjoy admiring the tableware during meal times. I admit that I only cook for guests I love dearly, hope they would enjoy the moment at the table. I like to use plain white plates and bowls to highlight simple food that I have arranged and decorated for visual enjoyment. I enjoyed dining moments at Singapore Takashimaya Royal Copenhagen Cafe. Royal Copenhagen Cafe serves guests with their exquisite tableware, hope I can afford to collect their blue and white collection one day.

You Are In Love When

You know how to draw
Pictures of the person
In fact you are lousy in drawing

You only describe the scent
Of the person
In fact you only know what’s smells good and bad

Yesterday

You were quiet, innocent and so fragile
We poured our love all over you

Your many firsts
Lovely smiles
Peaceful sleeping face

Our antidotes and rewards
For having you

Seize the Oppurtunity

Filed under: Writing — agnes @ 2:53 pm

What ever you wish to do
No harm trying.
At least you tried.
Even if you fail
Find out how you can do better.

If you are accepted
You are given a chance.
When you have the chance
It is your ticket
To your future

Live without regret
For regret is weakness.

;-)

Don’t be afraid
As we only live once
In every age we are going through.

Happy Valentine

Love is priceless

Celebrating love can be expensive

Love is generous

Sharing love breed jealousy

Love is heart warming

Too much love suffocates

What kind of love is yours?

Filed under: Writing — agnes @ 9:05 pm

It shall come to extreme less frequency as noticed in the late few months. Neither am I impressed with my blogging performance. Not that I am not interested, I am super busy with everything in my life, home and work. Forgive me dear blog, I just do not have much material in mind to do so… will try to do as much as possible to keep this blog alive…

A new term - He Bitch

Filed under: Writing — agnes @ 8:56 pm

In this stage of the modern world, there have been some new terms for new found human attitudes. One of them is metrosexual or metro man. What about those who carry certain undesirable feminine habits and doings? Especially of type whose sexual preference is unknown. The kind that bitches exactly like some female, do you call them He-Bitch?

Reluctant but volunteered

Unselfish decision has to be made. A decision that would please everyone. Turning this personally view as long due plan into reality but not necessarily good for everyone. There was time thoughts turned bizzare to oppose normalcy in quest to find happiness. Tonight heart is heavy with emotion but tears would be refrain to put up the best appearance for rest of the days. Hold on to selfishness, privacy - shut down emotion and dreams. After all the nest was not to be or own. A new ambition is born out of this event, motivate further. Hopefully would bear fruit soonest. Looking at the bright side, it is also a time to rejoice with sadness.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallow

Filed under: Reading List, Writing — agnes @ 7:00 am

I went to Borders The Curve after 12pm on release day, no mob, no crowd. I am glad I could walk in comfortably to get a copy. Hypermarts have no rights to sell books on its launch date by slashing the price to attract other sales. Price control in any business is very important. Retail price fixed and published is to ensure everyone gets a fair deal. Does anyone care to know how businesses thrive to make their profit to keep its doors open? Giving away discounts simply to make sales figure is not a wise strategy, let alone if you try to do this to a product that is highly anticipated over the years (mind you, it’s the last book of HP), it is like killing the excitement, the fun and the party. Would you like this to happen to your own party? I confess I am not a great fan of Rowling’s HP but for the sake of telling my 2 toddler boys what happen to Potter in the end. I am not a fast reader, just into chapter two after 4 hours, I have work to do you know. By the way, next time if you want to buy a book, go to a bookstore. Not hypermarts. It’s unconventional economics. This is not the first time bigger businesses compete with each other and hurt small retailers in the process. Ah… by the way consumers who buy from price cut deals are not loyal customer and will not thank you in return.

MPH Writer Circle Talk: E-Publishing by Fuji Xerox

Filed under: Writing — tanling @ 6:26 pm

Attended E-Publishing talk for writers wannabe like me (I’m into food porn writing LOL). One important lesson learnt from today’s talk.. I can go into food porn comic too… LOL again. Japanese e-publisher www.popls.co.jp have been into self publishing for independent comic artist since 1972. Popls can deliver books, cd, merchandise and anything related to your comic work within few days and simple price structure. Rediscover www.lulu.com and http://www.iuniverse.com/ . Seems like iuniverse could be a problem if you are not in USA. A Singaporean got taxed coz iuniverse ‘export’ his book to him. Other than that problem iuniverse did an excellent job for the writer.

See MPH event details at http://www.mph.com.my/promotions/promotions.cfm#mega.

I had some 2-inch thick manuals digitally printed by a Nilai printer using Fuji Xerox inline printing machine that does binding as well. The results are excellent although price was high. My clients were pleased and I am happy.

Another digital printing exprience was with www.pixart.com.my for family Chinese New Year photo collection. Very good quality linen hard cover. Limited products offerred.

I discovered I-Mac shops also do digital printing for their clients. I will try to find time to make an album. Calendar(can put your face on your birth date), post cards, mini photo album for gifts, medium sized albums. Though the sample album at the shop is not of impressive quality, I will try to get a mini photo album done with them. Interesting pricing.
